N (November) means No or Negative. When racing it means that the current raced has been abandoned, return to the starting area.

C (Charlie) means Yes or Affirmative. When racing it means the course has been changed

N and C flown together are used as a distress signal (I require immediate assistance)

Code C 450mm x 305mm Yes or affirmative. Change of course (sailing regatta).
Code N 450mm x 305mm No or negative. Abandonment and re-sail (sailing regatta).
