Lending a hand to Australian Seabird Rescue - BB Sea Turtle Hospital

Posted by Boat Warehouse on 3rd Apr 2021

The Boat Warehouse are pleased to be able to support Australian Seabird Rescue: Ballina - Byron Sea Turtle Hospital, with a small donation of portable step ladders, to keep volunteers safe and supported whilst climbing in and out of the turtle tanks.

As a grass-roots community group with a passion for coastal wildlife rescue and conservation, Australian Seabird Rescue (ASR) not only deliver training for the capture, handling and first aid of seabirds, shorebirds and other coastal wildlife, the organisation is licensed to rescue, rehabilitate and release sea turtles in NSW.  They are also set up to deliver training on rescues, first aid and rehab, turtle track and nest ID.

Since commencing operations ASR members rescued thousands of animals, talked to thousands of community groups in person and through the media, and trained hundreds of wildlife carers in the rescue and rehabilitation of marine wildlife.

We extend our thanks to all ASR volunteers, management and allied veterinary teams, for their tireless efforts rescuing and rehabilitating injured and distressed seabirds, turtles and coastal wildlife.
